Project Review

MNAP offers environmental site review services for many types of projects. Our review involves examining maps, manual and computerized records, other sources of information such as scientific articles or published references, and the personal knowledge of staff or cooperating experts for information on rare and exemplary botanical features in the project area. Typical reviews include:

  • DEP permit applications
  • development projects
  • subdivisions
  • zoning petitions
  • forest management plans
  • NRCS reviews

Please note that project reviews (also called site reviews) may be subject to a fee. For more information, see our fee structure.

Forestry Technical Assistance

MNAP provides a variety of services to forest industry, consulting foresters, and forest landowners. These services include property reviews using in-house data, field surveys for rare plants and exemplary natural communities, ecological training, landscape analysis, and management plan review. An increasing component of this work is driven by forest certification. MNAP works closely with staff of the Maine Forest Service.
