Growing & Tending Trees
What trees do you want to grow on your land? What trees are best suited for your land's soils, slopes, water resources and conditions? A private Licensed [Consulting Forester] can help you answer these questions, taking into consideration your wishes for beauty, wildlife habitat and potential income if and when you decide to harvest.
You may also find helpful information from the [American Tree Farm System]. Or, you may wish to become an active member and cultivate some or all of your land as a certified Tree Farm. Tree Farms are not certified by the state. Rather, they meet standards set by the American Tree Farm System, a private, membership organization.
