University of Southern Maine

 

Develop and implement public workshops and a 4-8th grade curriculum unit; establish a USM arboretum advisory board; create a comprehensive resource management plan; and add new plantings to the arboretum to expand the collection.


Unity College

 

Design an arboretum trail with a shrub and tree garden at its terminus; implement phase one of the site design.


Town of Bucksport

 

Develop a species forest as part of the Silver Lake Nature and Wildlife Area.


Lewiston/Auburn Tree Board

 

Purchase, plant, and maintain trees as well as accompanying plaques and benches to support the ongoing Reading Tree, shard cost, and Memorial Tree programs.

Plant 50- 60 shade trees along 1.1 miles of Main Street in Winterport Village.


Town of Mt. Vernon

 

Assess and address the dangerous trees located at the town beach and Library properties; develop a master tree plan, tree ordinance and community education program; address landscaping needs at the new town cemetery.

Plant trees and shrubs in Oakland's downtown area in concert with the Town's Revitalization effort for Main Street.


City of Gardiner

 

Enact a City Tree Ordinance; purchase, plant and maintain trees for the four community gateways and the waterfront park; hold educational sessions for the public.

Develop and Implement the "Nurturing Urban Tree Stewards" Program, which educates students about the environmental, social, and health benefits of trees.


Town of Sangerville

 

Develop a comprehensive forest management plan for the town owned woodlots in Sangerville.


Maine Arborist Association

 

Host a one-day workshop focused on the evaluation of tree defects, identifying the extent of compromise in the tree, and the thresholds for risk of tree failure.


L. C. Bates Museum

 

Remove and replace four dying trees in the Walter Palmer Hinckley Arboretum. Develop a slide show and hands-on program about sustaining the urban forest.
