Forester's Institute

In October the Maine Forest Service is launching a new series of educational programs for Maine Licensed Foresters.  Called the Forester’s Institute, its objectives are to provide topical and interactive sessions for Maine Licensed Foresters; delivered on a regular schedule at low or no cost.  Initially workshops will be offered in two locations; Augusta and Bangor.  Six subjects will be offered each year – the same material repeated in successive months in both locations.

Future workshop topics will be identified by Maine Licensed Foresters - determined by on-line surveys and workshop evaluations. 

Beyond the first year we are exploring ways to expand workshop locations, including distance education options and alternative workshop formats. We will be working with the Board of Licensure of Foresters to assign applicable contact hours for continuing education purposes.
