The Maine Department of Conservation, Maine Forest Service is requesting applications for biomass heat and/or energy installations in Maine communities including schools, hospitals, state, county, local and tribal governments. The funding for this program will be provided through the USDA Forest Service, State & Private Forestry Division, American Reinvestment & Recovery Act’s Wood-to-Energy Biomass program. This is an opportunity for public institutions to obtain support for wood-to-energy installations that are shovel-ready. This opportunity consists of two alternatives, one for “Custom Projects” and another for “Standard” projects.
