Public
Workshops
The
Commission’s staff will host a series of informal public workshops to present a
preliminary draft of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan and discuss the major
concepts of the plan, answer questions about the revision process, and gather
informal public feedback on the draft and the issues facing the
jurisdiction. The Commission’s staff
will revise the preliminary draft in response to information gathered from
these workshops and on-going research, and prepare a draft plan for formal
public hearings.
Public Workshops Postponed
Due to the Commission's schedule, the Land Use Regulation Commission is postponing the public workshops on the draft of the 2008 Comprehensive Land Use Plan which were originally scheduled for the first two weeks of February 2008. New dates and locations for these workshops will be announced as soon as they can be rescheduled. While the workshops have been temporarily postponed, staff is continuing to meet with any groups wishing to provide comment on the draft. Should your group wish to meet with staff please contact Sarah Giffen at sarah.giffen@maine.gov.
All interested members of the public are invited to attend and offer comments which would have a bearing on this draft plan. The public is not required to submit written comments before the workshops. Members of the public may simply attend the workshops and speak.
Written comments should be sent to the Land Use Regulation Commission, 22 State House Station, Augusta, Maine, 04333-0022. Comments may also be submitted via e-mail to LURC@maine.gov.
