Transcanada Pending Actions
TransCanada Maine Wind Development, Inc. submitted a petition to the Maine Land Use Regulation Commission to expand the expedited permitting area for wind energy development on July 1, 2009. The requested expedited area expansion would have the effect of changing the review criteria and process for future wind power development proposals in the expansion area. At the Commission’s August 5, 2009 regular business meeting, the Commission voted to proceed with rulemaking, but did not set dates. The dates of the public comment period and public hearing will be discussed at the Commission’s September 2, 2009 regular business meeting. This page will be updated with the public comment period and public hearing date once they are set by the Commission.
A paper copy is also available for review at the LURC Augusta office (207) 287-2631, the LURC Rangeley regional office (207) 864-5064, and the Franklin County Commissioner's office (207) 778-6614 – Julie Magoon by appointment.
