Details:
  • Maine could receive approximately $5.3 million. According to Recovery.gov, federal agencies must begin to report their formula block grant awards by March 3, 2009.
  • 1% of the funds will be made available to each state for enrollment coordination activities relating to identification and enrollment of eligible individuals and families in Federal, State and local benefit programs. All other funds shall be distributed to eligible entities.
  • These dollars will Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS) in DHHS and be contracted to CAP agencies statewide for their work to support training and employment; food assistance; transportation; family support; WIC; housing and energy assistance; and healthcare efforts serving those hardest hit by the recession.
