The new provider certification process for Medical Marijuana is set to launch on January 5, 2015.  The use of this system is mandatory and certifications issued after January 5, 2015 must be done through this process.  There is no need to reissue existing certifications for patients that have been serviced prior to that date.  Instructions for issuing certifications for visiting qualifying patients may be found on the Maine Medical Use of Marijuana website.

On-line trainings are available to assist providers with the creation of their account, familiarization with the process, ordering paper and to answer any other questions that arise. The remaining training opportunities are:

December 17, 9-10 a.m
December 19, 3-4 p.m

Providers can log onto the training at www.readytalk.com (access code 6212632) at either of the above-mentioned times.  In order to set up an account, each provider must have their license number and access code which is obtained from their individual board of licensure.  Please contact your board at the numbers listed below for your license number and access code.

Board of Osteopathic 287-2480
Board of Nursing 287-1133

Once your account has been created, providers may utilize the system to order specialty paper at no cost to them. Please log onto www.maine.gov/online/medicalmarijuana. Your account may be created and paper ordered on this site as of December 16, 2014. Please order paper in increments of 25 and limit it to 100 for the first month of operation.

We thank you for your patience as we work to implement this new process and if you have questions or concerns, please call us at 207-287-9300.
