Maine Surplus facilitates the disposition of materials and equipment that are no longer needed by the state department that purchased them. We do this through a variety of methods, including daily sales to qualifying donees, property offered for bid, public sales, and online auctions. We also receive and distribute federal surplus property for donation to qualifying state, public and nonprofit organizations throughout Maine. 

In addition, Maine Surplus helps the state meet its sustainability goals by extending the lifecycle of unneeded property and reducing waste, while offering low-cost items to the citizens of Maine.
