Town: Biddeford

Angel or "Tony", as he was also known, was reported missing by his family on May 24, 1999. Angel was in the Saco/ Biddeford/OOB area at the time of his disappearance. Foul play is suspected.

On what would have been Angel's 38th birthday (today 4/1/2016), the Torres family has received a generous donation increasing the reward in this case from $5000. to $10,000. On Saturday May, 21st, 2016 (the 17th anniversary of Angels disappearance) the reward has been increased to $15000.

Town: Alfred

On June 2, 1971, at about 10:30 AM, 3-year-old Douglas Chapman was reported missing by his mother. He was last seen playing by a sand pile approximately 25 yards in front of his residence. His mother reported that she was in the residence talking on the phone, and his father was at work.

On July 12, 1994, Louise Bocuzzo was found murdered in the Kennebunkport home she shared with her granddaughter, Catherine Daly, and Catherine�s boyfriend, William Ragussa. Prior to her death, Louise suffered trauma to her face, arms, back and legs.

Baldwin was last seen alive on 04/04/76, 0230 hours, lying on the floor of her kitchen. Baldwin was found at 0900 hours on 04/04/76, still lying on the floor. Investigation revealed that an argument was heard in the victim's apartment by neighbors in the apartment complex. The case remains open.

Conway was last seen at a Cornish residence/motorcycle shop on 01/16/91 for the purposes of selling handguns. Conway reportedly left that residence at 2130 hours on foot to purchase beer. Conway's body was discovered on 01/23/91 by a man walking his dog in the Newfield, Maine, woods. Multiple suspects have been interviewed.

Town: Windham

Crabtree was a five-month-old infant who lived with her parents and a nineteen-month-old sibling in a small apartment in Windham, Maine. On 08/22/96, Jenna was found unresponsive by her mother while lying in a wicker bassinet placed in a closet in the parents' bedroom.

On May 06, 1988 at 1757 hours, Dunlap's body was discovered on the bedroom floor of his apartment by management after neighbors complained of a strong odor in the building. Investigation revealed that an altercation/ struggle took place in the living room at or near the couch and coffee table. The case remains open.

Town: Gorham

Duran was reported missing by her parents from her residence in Gorham, Maine, after not returning home after an evening out. She was located several months later on 08/01/84 off a logging road adjacent to the Wescott Road in Gorham, Maine. She was found by two individuals looking for deer. One suspect was tried and acquitted for murder. There are two other suspects in this case.

Town: Farmington

On 09/10/71, Hand returned home from school at 1410 hours. Hand then left home at 1450 hours to go to a residence to collect owed baby-sitting money. Hand never returned home and was reported missing at 2015 hours. Hand's body was discovered on 09/23/71 under a sawdust pile located off High Street in Farmington. Suspect was interviewed on this case.

Town: Limington

On 04/20/92, Hannah was reported missing since 04/18/92 by her mother. Hannah had been living with her mother since she separated from her husband. Hannah was last seen alive at The Whaler Bar in Old Orchard Beach by bar employees on 04/19/92 at 0120 hours. Hannah's remains were discovered on 11/14/93 in the woods off a logging road adjacent to Route 117 in Limington. A suspect has been interviewed in this case.

Town: Westbrook

Alice Hawkes was found dead in the apartment she shared with her boyfriend on 10/04/87 at 1055 hours. Her boyfriend went to town to take care of some errands and upon return was locked out of the residence. He had no way to get in so he summonsed the landlord to assist. Upon entry, the landlord and boyfriend found Hawkes deceased in the apartment. Her boyfriend stated he had called Hawkes earlier to advise he had locked himself out of his car. This was the last time she was heard from.

Hobbs lived alone in an old farmhouse in North Berwick. He was found by a friend and neighbor on 10/16/97 at 1916 hours. Hobbs was located near the main entrance as if he had let his assailant inside the residence. It appears robbery was the motive.

La Vopa had problems with tenants and also had a volatile relationship with his girlfriend. Kennebunk PD responded to a domestic dispute involving La Vopa and his girlfriend on 11/20/85. La Vopa was last seen retrieving his mail on 11/27/85. La Vopa's body was discovered partially covered with snow on 12/07/85 in the Arundel woods. Suspects have been interviewed.

The victim was last seen leaving his place of employment, Veno Electric, in Conway, NH, on Thursday, July 9, 1992 around 1400 hours in his gray van.

Mair failed to show for work on July 10, 1992, which was unusual for him. On July 15, 1992, Mair's body was discovered in woods off an old logging road behind the Mair residence.

Town: Lewiston

On November 6, 1976 at approximately 0440 hours, the body of Dorothy Milliken was found lying outside of Beal's Laundromat at 969 Lisbon Street in Lewiston, Maine.

Milliken frequently did her laundry late at night or in the early morning hours. On November 5th, she left her residence after her husband went to bed at approximately 2300 hours.

The family of Dorothy Milliken is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for this crime.

Napier was found floating in the Saco River on 02/20/94 at the Maine Energy Recovery Plant. Autopsy revealed Napier drowned.

Mary Olenchuk was last seen alive on Sunday, August 9, 1970, 200 yards from her home at approximately 1700 hours. She was standing beside a maroon car, possibly a 1967 Chevy. The driver of the car was described as a white male, mid-thirties, wearing dark clothes.

On August 22, 1970 at 1300 hours, Olenchuk's body was found in a barn at the Parson's Estate in Kennebunk by a Kennebunk Officer. Location of the barn was on Wentworth Street in Kennebunk, which is 10.2 miles from the point of abduction

Ouellette, a fifteen-year-old female from Saco, was found lying in the middle of the Pine Point Road in Scarborough by passing motorists on 02/10/99 at 0357 hours. Ouellette was last seen alive at approximately 0200 hours at a residence in Saco. She was allowed to spend the night there; however, by morning, Ashley had disappeared from the residence. Ouellette was not seen again until found in the road.

Town: Lyman

On the evening of July 7, 1978, Tanner attended parties in a wooded section of Route 9 in Kennebunk and at the Kennebunk Beach. Tanner left the Kennebunk Beach gathering in the company of friends and was dropped off at the intersection of Routes 9 and 35 in Kennebunk at approximately 2330 hours. Tanner indicated she was going to hitchhike home from that location.

On July 9, 1978, Tanner's body was discovered in Gracie Evans Airfield in Lyman. Several suspects have been interviewed.

Town: Brunswick

Thomas was last seen on 09/22/90 at 73 Knox Street in Lewiston with two other individuals. Thomas was murdered and thrown into the Androscoggin River. Thomas' body was found on 09/27/90 at the CMP dam in Brunswick, Maine.

Webb, Pamela J.

Unresolved since: 1989

Town: Biddeford

On July 2, 1989, Pamela Webb's 1981 Chevrolet pickup truck was found abandoned on the Maine Turnpike at mile 30.4 southbound in Biddeford. The passenger side rear tire was flat and a spare tire was leaning against the tailgate. There were blood stains on the pavement on the passenger side of the truck. Webb's dog was in the front of the truck. A turnpike ticket was found inside the truck indicating Webb entered the turnpike in Augusta at 2152 hours on 07/01/89. Webb was headed to Mason, NH, to visit her boyfriend. Her boyfriend reported Webb missing on 07/02/89 at 1009 hours. 75 to 100 people called the State Police to report seeing Webb's truck broken down.

On July 18, 1989, human remains were found in Franconia, NH, which were subsequently identified at Webb's.

Butch, as he was known by friends and family, was killed at his residence on Main Street in Wilton on December 23, 2003. He was killed while sitting in his home office.

Town: Route 105, Washington

On 11-25-75 at 0900 hours, Ludger Belanger was dropped on Route 105 in Washington by his brother and wife to go hunting. He had a .30-30 hunting rifle in his possession. He advised his wife he would be home in one hour. He was never seen again. Investigation revealed that Ludger had shot his deer, drug it to the road and was picked up by someone in a motor vehicle.

Lorna Brackett and Vincent White were last seen drinking at the U.S.A. Lounge in Fairfield, Maine on Sunday 11-17-91. Witnesses saw both leave at 2200 hours, same date. On 11-18-91 at 0317 hours, Waterville Police were called by a neighbor who complained of loud voices and fireworks at 7 Reservoir Street. Police responded and found the house quite. At 0535 hours, neighbors heard a loud explosion and witnessed a large fire at the house. Lorna and Vincent were found inside.

Town: Winslow

On 04-12-79 Huntley died in a fire at his home on Rt. 137 in Winslow. The fire was investigated initially by the Fire Marshal's Office. The investigation was later joined by the State Police on 07-02-79 when it was determined the fire was suspicious. Investigation revealed that the fire was concentrated in the living room area, where the body was located. The fire burned quickly and with intense heat. The fire was discovered by the town sanitary personnel while on their garbage route.

Kowalczyk, Brian

Town: Winthrop

Kowalczyk was home alone on 11-06-86. He was found dead in his home by Winthrop Police who were sent there by his wife when she was unable to raise him by telephone. Mrs. Kowalczyk was in New York at the time of his death searching for a new home for the couple. Police found signs of a struggle inside. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Kowalczyk worked as a Snap On Tool salesman.

Town: Newcastle

On 08-16-75 a female body was found in a culvert in Sherman Lake, located in the town of Newcastle, Maine. The victim was identified as that of Florence Lauze and she may have been hitchhiking from Massachusetts to Damariscotta where her father lived at the time. The victim was unidentified for several days after being found.

Town: Madison

Levesque was found dead in his residence on 04-06-94 at 1220 hours by a soft drink delivery man. Levesque owned and operated a bottle redemption center in a building behind his residence. Levesque's wife last saw her husband alive at 0815 hours, prior to leaving for work in Madison that same day. Levesque's business office was located inside his residence. His residence was on the same grounds as the redemption center. It is theorized that the murderer entered Levesque's residence to steal money. Levesque surprised the suspect, the suspect then killed Levesque.

Town: Pittsfield

McAvoy, age 32, of Pittsfield, Maine was last seen alive at her residence on August 9, 1990 by her close friend. Friends notified local police on 10-01-90 after going to Shirley's house and discovering what appeared to be a large pool of dried blood under the living room couch. The blood was later determined to be that of McAvoy.

On 08-10-90, McAvoy's vehicle was reportedly involved in a traffic accident on the South East expressway in Boston, MA. The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, who was never identified, however was described as six feet tall, slender build, with light colored short hair.

On 11-20-90, the skeletal remains of McAvoy were found wrapped in a quilt in Spotsylvania, Virginia. Her vehicle was ultimately found in Georgia.

Rourke was reported missing on 12-15-76. She lived in a mobile home with Albert P. Cochran. Rourke was last seen by her daughter. Her daughter reported overhearing her mother and Cochran arguing the night before she disappeared. Rourke was scheduled to be interviewed by State Police investigators in reference to the Janet Baxter homicide as a possible witness against Cochran.

Cochran was convicted of the murder of Janet Baxter in 1998 and denies any knowledge of Rourke's disappearance. Rourke's body has not been recovered.

Jesse Hoover was reported missing on 7-11-83 by her sister. Hoover traveled to Maine from Texas to hike the Appalachian Trail. She was last seen on 5-20-83 at the Baxter State Park Headquarters. Hoover was an epileptic and had no special equipment or knowledge to aid her while hiking.

At the time of her disappearance Hoover was 54 years old, 5' 10" tall and weighed 240 pounds. She was wearing blue jeans, blue shirt, blue windbreaker and a blue knapsack.

Philip Letarte, 65, left the Tibbetts Road home of Robert Ericson in Woodland on June 2, 1986 around 300 pm. Letarte told Ericson that he was going to GARY's EXXON in New Sweden to buy cigarettes. A 3.5 mile walk. On 6-3-86, a man fitting Letarte's description was seen standing on the Colby Road.

Letarte has not been seen since.

On the morning of March 18, 1977, Lila Drew was found lying on the floor of her residence in the town of Masardis by her son Maxwell Drew. Drew's residence was located directly on Route 11. Drew was a retired school teacher from the neighboring Ashland school system and she lived alone at the time of her death.

Leslie Spellman, dob 10-4-49, was discovered deceased in Asticou Gardens in Northeast Harbor on 6-19-77. A man on vacation with his family discovered her body on a pathway. Leslie was a yoga teacher from Hingham, Massachusetts and reportedly hitchhiked from Barre, Vermont with her destination being an Ashram Community in Bar Harbor. She was accompanied by a dog which was located about a mile from her body.

William Garlick, dob 3-18-55, and John Joyce, dob 6-15-49, left Worcester, MA on 9-13-82 enroute to Alton, Maine to collect a $22,000 debt. They were operating a black 1980 Corvette, Mass. Registration 512-EVZ. The Corvette was found in the parking lot of the Bangor Mall in Bangor, Maine on 9-14-82. The ignition was torn apart, as well as the interior of the vehicle. A man's wallet, belonging to William Garlick, was found on the seat of the vehicle. John Joyce and William Garlick have not been seen since.

Joseph Bichrest, formerly of Pennsylvania, was an attorney living in Greenville. In 1976, he disappeared, along with his jeep. Investigation revealed that a credit card in his name was used in Philadelphia two days after his disappearance. His jeep has never been found. Anonymous reports persist that he was murdered. Rumors that he and his jeep are in a quarry in Greenville abound, and several quarries have been searched over the years.

On 10-13-1984, Beverly Polchies was picked up in Old Town by Old Town P.D. for being intoxicated. They contacted Indian Island P.D., who picked her up and took her to the reservation. At approximately 8:30 pm, she was dropped off on Route 2 in Milford by Indian Island P.D. At approximately 10:00 pm, a small white vehicle pulled into EMMC ER with Beverly Polchies. The driver immediately left the emergency room area. Driver described as a white male, slender, 5'6" to 5' 8", appx. 30 to 35 yoa, appx. 150-160 pounds. Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death a homicide.

On 4-5-76, a burned-out green 1971 Chrysler station wagon with Massachusetts registration was discovered on a woods road off Rte. 9 in Amherst. The burned body of a white male was found within the vehicle, and was subsequently identified as James Cassidy of Brookline, Massachusetts. Investigation determined that the vehicle fire was a result of arson. At the time of his death, Cassidy was an executive employee of the Brookline, Massachusetts Trust Company bank.

On 4-27-93, Virginia Pictou Noyes went to Bangor with her husband, Larry Noyes, and two other people. They all got extremely intoxicated and Larry assaulted Virginia. Larry was arrested for domestic assault and Virginia was taken to EMMC. She repeatedly told police that she needed to get home to her 5 children in Easton. Virginia left the hospital before her checkup was completed. Larry ultimately made bail and was released. We are reasonably sure she got a ride to the truck stop in Houlton as witnesses saw her using the telephone. She was last seen walking north through the parking lot of the truck stop.

Moon-Atwood, Shirley

Town: Canaan

During the summer of 2006, Shirley Moon-Atwood was living with her husband, Shannon Atwood, at 534 Hartland Road in Canaan. In July of 2006, the State Police started a missing persons investigation to determine the whereabouts of Cheryl Murdoch, who had recently moved in with Shannon Atwood at that same address. Cheryl's body was located in August of 2006. The State Police continued to investigate in an attempt to locate Shirley Moon-Atwood. Shannon Atwood was charged with the murder of both Cheryl and Shirley. Prior to trial, the charge of murder was dismissed without prejudice with respect to Shirley. Shannon Atwood was convicted in the murder of Cheryl Murdoch. Extensive searches have not located Shirley Moon-Atwood.

Kennard, Stanley

Unresolved since: 1987

Town: Madison

In 1987, Stanley Kennard left Madison for temporary employment in Southern Maine. Stanley's mother reported him missing a year later to the Madison Police Department. The State Police became involved with the investigation in 1997.

Town: Fort Fairfield

Anthony Bear was last seen on August 22, 1992 leaving the Tobique Indian Reservation in Perth-Andover New Brunswick. His body was located by hunters on October 3, 1992 in the Town of Fort Fairfield. His death was ruled a homicide after an autopsy was conducted.

Marilyn Lehan was last known to be living with her husband in the Town of Eastport. She was last seen during the summer of 2002 by a relative. Investigative efforts have not produced any alternate addresses or any indication that she is living at another location.

Bernard Ross was a resident of Fort Kent when he was last seen on May 12, 1977. Ross was suspected of stealing a vehicle from Presque Isle. He was last seen on the Realty Road near the Ashland-Portage Town line. Despite numerous searches he was never located.

Rod Hotham was living in Veazie when he was last seen in September of 1992. He was a Certified Public Accountant and was indicted on Federal charges in November of that same year.

Thompson, Stephen

Unresolved since: 1986

Town: Oakland

Stephen Thompson worked as a manager at Schwan's in Oakland. On the morning of June 2, 1986, Stephen was dropped off at work by his wife, Beverly. That morning employees observed Stephen at work. Later that morning unsuccessful attempts were made to make contact/locate Stephen. The Oakland Police Department responded and investigated. The State Police became involved in 1993.

Town: Biddeford

Joseph Baillargeon's body was located on February 7, 1968 near the side of a road in the Town of Biddeford, which was about seven miles from his house. He was 79 years old at the time of his death, which was ruled a homicide.

On June 22, 2007, 58-year-old Kevin Foley of Portland was found deceased at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Westbrook. He was last seen leaving his residence at about 7pm the night before.

Town: Chain of Ponds Township

Four-year-old Kurt Newton was last seen on August 31, 1975 at a campground in Chain of Ponds, which is near the Canadian border in Northern Franklin County. He had been camping with his family. Despite a large search effort by civilians and law enforcement, he was never found.

Town: South Portland

Joyce Tanerillo was found on 8/26/1974 at approximately 0830 hours in her car which was parked at her residence in South Portland, Maine.

According to her husband, Tanerillo was last seen alive at 0100 hours on 8/26/1974 by her ex-husband whom she agreed to have coffee and talk with. After talking, she left, picked up a hitchhiker on Congress Street in Portland, then ran three red lights. Her ex-husband stated that he followed her and lost her at the lights.

A suspect has been interviewed.

56 year old Darrel Smith was found deceased at his Thomas Road residence in Woodland on February 6, 2008. He was the owner of Smith's Sawmill and Logging. Smith's wallet and a safe were missing from the property and the safe was recovered on a later date. Despite investigative efforts, no arrest has been made.

A 9-1-1 call was placed at 5:37 p.m. to the Lewiston/Auburn dispatch center from 88 Elm Street. The caller, JOSHUA B. GORDON reported that his girlfriend, TABITHA N. PURSLEY date of birth 06-11-85, had hung herself inside her closet in their bedroom.

Town: Caribou

On the evening of September 24, 2015 the Caribou Fire Department responded to a residential fire at 5 Lower Lyndon Street in Caribou. The residence was the home of Kenneth Zernicke. While battling the blaze, firefighters located Mr. Zernicke inside the residence deceased. The Medical Examiners office ruled the death a Homicide

Sebastian Kelley was last seen on July 17, 2017 in Westbrook. He was known to be transient and had recently been assaulted. He is a light skin black male, 5'11", 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo that reads "Willow Grace" on his neck. Investigative efforts have not revealed his location.
