Frank J. Wood Bridge Safety Inspection
Brunswick/Topsham – A safety inspection on the Frank J. Wood Bridge connecting Brunswick and Topsham is scheduled for Monday, August 20th starting at 8 a.m.
During this one day event, northbound motorists on Route 201 and Route 24 will be detoured to Route 1 east to Route 196. Southbound traffic WILL be allowed on the bridge. Traffic will be re-opened to both lanes when crews have completed the inspection.
This routine inspection of the Frank J. Wood Bridge, spanning the Androscoggin River, is part of a bi-annual bridge safety inspection on truss-style bridges throughout the state. Additionally, crews will take advantage of this lane closure to perform a minor repair.
