Traffic Patterns On I-395 Bridge To Change Next Week
BANGOR, Maine – Starting on Monday, August 22, traffic patterns on I-395 over the Veterans Remembrance Bridge will change causing possible delays for motorists.
On Monday, August 22, traffic heading eastbound over the bridge from Bangor to Brewer will be shifted to the right-hand lanes in order for construction crews to work on the center lanes of the bridge.
While all on- and off-ramps have been open for the Bangor State Fair and the American Folk Festival, starting Monday, August 29, the westbound on-ramp from Route 1A will close until October 24. Motorists will be directed to a detour that utilizes the Farm Road, Perry Road and the Odlin Road to access I-95. Westbound traffic will also be shifted to the right-hand lanes to accommodate construction in the center lanes. At times, traffic may be reduced to one lane in some locations which could cause delays.
Construction activity is weather-dependent, so the exact dates are subject to change. Due to the construction and possible delays, motorists may want to allow for extra time or use an alternate route.
