Behind the Wheel: Medical Review Unit at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, June 2021.

"Behind The Wheel" is focused on the Medical Review Unit at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, which handles medical conditions as related to driver licensing. In four episodes, host Larry Boivin speaks with Thea Fickett, Medical Review Coordinator, who explains how the BMV processes medical information based on specific standards, and what it means for drivers with those conditions.

Part 1: This episode features discussion of Thea’s role in the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, the “functional ability profiles” used by the State and some of the associated health standards for driving.
