Driver and Motorcycle Rider Education
The Driver/Rider Education Unit is responsible for establishing the qualifications, licensing standards and procedures for the licensing of driver education schools and instructors. Included in these responsibilities are the tasks of implementing and monitoring a standardized curriculum in all phases of driver and rider education, including commercial vehicles.
Additionally, this unit is responsible for the training and certification of motorcycle safety instructors for the Maine Motorcycle Safety Education Course (MMSEC) and the Basic Rider Course (BRC).
