Protecting and Assisting Consumers

The Maine Bureau of Insurance works to ensure that the companies and individuals working in the insurance industry abide by state laws when doing business with Maine consumers. The Bureau has two consumer divisions:

Staff members from both divisions are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to discuss concerns and answer questions that Maine residents may have about insurance in general or about specific policies and claims. Contact information is provided below.
