Employee Self-Service

What is ESS?

Employee Self-Service (ESS) is a program which allows employees to have control over updating their personal information. All State of Maine employees have access to ESS from the State's intranet site using your MS-TAMS login and password.

What information will I be able to update?

Employees have as much control over their personal information as possible. This includes the ability to update:

  • Name
  • Marital status
  • Address
  • Telephone number
  • Emergency contact information
  • Direct deposit
  • Tax information


Employees will also be able to update and view the following on My Pay:

  • Pay activity
  • Current check stubs
  • Check stub history
  • Year-to-date payroll activity.

There are also other features such as "Ask HR" which will allow employees to get answers to their questions about ESS.
