Overview
The IBM Enterprise Server consists of IBM’s z/OS Operating System, dedicated disk storage and tape subsystems. There is no reliance on the State of Maine’s network for disk and tape subsystem connectivity.
- Disk and tape subsystems connect to the IBM z114 Enterprise Server using IBM’s proprietary FICON and ESCON fiber connections
- This application hosting environment has been in containment (no new development or applications) for the past 10+ years as customers have migrated their applications to other hosting environments
- This platform is expected to be decommissioned after the last remaining customer application has been migrated to a cloud-based offering

- 24x7 monitoring by MaineIT OEM staff

- Facilities management (secure datacenter, UPS, generators, HVAC)
- Storage hardware procurement and management
- Storage subsystem support
- Proactive performance monitoring, alerting and reporting
- IBM Enterprise Server is located in a secure datacenter with cooling units, uninterruptible power supplies and backup power generators
- On-call coverage is available for production break/fix 24x7x365
Excludes:
- Participation in audits, response to audit questions, development and execution of remediation plans for specific audits
- Off-hours support for non-production environments
Service Level Targets & Availability

- The State of Maine’s IBM Enterprise Server is available 24x7x365 days a year, with the exception of a standard maintenance window of Sunday 8:00AM – noon; during this window, the system may be unavailable for brief periods
- Standard business hour coverage is 7:00AM - 5:00PM Monday through Friday
- On-call coverage is available for production break/fix 24x7
- To report a production break/fix after hours, please contact MaineIT Operations
- If service is required for non-production systems outside of the standard business hour coverage, prior arrangements will be required with the director of this service area and an associated fee applies

Customer Expectations
- Application system design and development, as well as ongoing application support
- Application support staff and business user testers in the event of an upgrade, which may be scheduled after hours or on weekends
- Ability to stay current with software versions used in support of this service offering
- Ability to tolerant the standard maintenance windows as described in the Service Level Targets section of this document
