Hurricanes and Tropical Storms

When the National Hurricane Center issues a Hurricane or Tropical Storm watch or warning that includes Maine, the National Weather Service Forecast Offices in Gray and Caribou will issue weather statements detailing how and where the storm is expected to affect Maine (inland flooding, high winds, coastal flooding, etc.). The products listed under the "Gray" and "Caribou" tabs are the likely products that would be issued. See the "Current Alerts" tab for active watches, warnings or advisories.

These products are published daily by the National Hurricane Center whether or not there are tropical storms in the Atlantic or Pacific. When a tropical storm forms, you will find a link to all the information from the National Hurricane Center displayed to the right.

The National Weather Service products linked here for reference are the last issued version, which may be for a past event. Always check the issue date of the product you are viewing. Active weather watches, warnings or advisories are displayed at the Current Alerts tab.
