February 2024
H-Piles were successfully set and driven for Abutment 1 Phase 2, alongside the installation of 3’ diameter pile sleeves at both Abutment 1 and 2, which were subsequently filled with concrete. Additionally, the installation of light poles and mast arm poles was completed, along with ongoing intersection signal improvements. Excavation for the center pier was initiated, while preparations for driving piles at the center pier commenced. Formwork and rebar tying for Abutments 1 and 2 were initiated, and mast arms for signal installation at the intersection of the northbound ramps and Desert Rd were installed. Phase 2 pier H-Piles were driven, phase 2 Abutment 2 concrete was placed, and form and rebar work for phase 2 Abutment 1 was ongoing.
February 2024
Crews working on Desert Road site have installed a traffic signal mast arms at the intersection with the south bound ramps and Desert Road. Workers have continued with highway lighting improvements and driving stage 2 H-piles for abutment 2.
January 2024
Crews continued to remove stage 2 structural beams from the existing bridge and began stage 2 removal of both abutments and approach slabs. Workers continued stage 2 demo of existing bridge. Electric Light worked on installing various light pole foundations.
December 2023
Workers have spent December conducting stage 2 demolition, involving the demolition and removal of the bridge deck and steel beams.
November 2023
L&D painted lane lines and pavement markings, with the project switching to stage 2 traffic pattern. Workers started to remove the overhang forms for the stage one concrete deck.
October 2023
Work at Durham Road saw the placement of concrete for the pier stem. Workers placed concrete for the 48” mast arm. Work at Desert Road continued with the grading of side slopes along north bound off ramp and the approaches of abutments one and two. Workers began form and rebar work for stage one Texas bridge rail. Workers began preparations and layout for stage two traffic pattern.
September 2023

Applied loam, seed, and mulch along the slopes of the north bound off ramp and the abutment 2 approach. Started to remove forms for the deck. Began preparations for installing electric light mast arm foundations. Installed 2 36” mast arm foundations. Installed a controller cabinet foundation.
July 2023
Placed stage 1 deck. Began form work for the parapet sections. Backfilled behind the abutments up to the approach slab elevation. Began preparing for the approach slabs.
June 2023
Continued with form work for the concrete deck and tied rebar for the concrete deck
May 2023
Continued with form work for the stage 1 deck and began installing the stage 1 bridge deck drains
April 2023
Continued installing Stage 1 deck forms
March 2023
Installed protective shielding between the beams in preparation for building deck forms.
