A milling machine with fine cutting teeth will be used to roughen the surface of the pavement to increase the skid resistance. This work will proceed unless we experience heavy rain.

If weather prevents the work from being performed, MaineDOT will continue to monitor the situation and apply sand as needed. An attempt to apply a course grit to the surface was unsuccessful Wednesday due to cool temperatures.

We urge motorists to drive with caution.
