MJRP: Maine Jobs & Recovery Plan

Maine Infrastructure Adaptation Fund

MaineDOT is administering a $20 million grant program that will provide direct funding to municipalities, tribes, and state agencies for stormwater, drinking water, and wastewater infrastructure projects that address climate effects, such as flooding and vulnerability to extreme weather, and support public safety as communities try to manage the changing climate.

  • Funding is through the Maine Jobs & Recovery Plan.
  • The program is a leading recommendation of Maine’s 2021 four-year Climate Action Plan, entitled Maine Won’t Wait. It was developed in recognition that many communities need access to funding to prioritize resiliency projects and to secure local matching funds needed for federal infrastructure projects.
  • Financial assistance will range from thousands of dollars to millions based on the scope of the project.
