Proposals to Create a Unicameral Maine Legislature Updated through the 130th Legislature Introduction This legislative history contains proposals since 1935 to create a unicameral legislature in Maine. Nebraska is the only state in the U.S. that has a unicameral, i.e. single chamber, legislature.
