Maine Dept. of Labor Seeks Public Comment on Maine Senior Community Services Employment Program State Plan Modification

AUGUSTA - The Maine Department of Labor (MDOL) is seeking public comment on proposed modification to the 2026-2027 Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) State Plan.

The modification reflects the transfer of program administration from the Department of Health and Human Services to MDOL, incorporates updated federal guidance issued by the U.S. Department of Labor (including TEGL 14-25 - https://www.dol.gov/sites/dolgov/files/ETA/advisories/TEGL/2025/TEGL%2014-25/TEGL%2014-25.pdf ), updates negotiated performance goals and current workforce data, strengthens alignment with Maine's Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) State Plan, and includes new program strategies to enhance employment opportunities and services for eligible older workers.

Comments on the SCESP State Plan Modification will be accepted from Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24, 2026 at 5 p.m.
