Working Group Recommended Strategies

To achieve Maine’s climate goals, six working groups – joined by an expert Scientific and Technical Subcommittee—have developed a set of strategies for the Council to consider for the State Climate Action Plan. The strategies include both greenhouse gas reduction (“mitigation”) strategies and climate change adaptation strategies.

These recommended strategies will be presented to the Maine Climate Council on June 17th and 18th. Please register for this 2-part meeting on our homepage and download the agenda here

The Maine Climate Council is responsible to integrate and prioritize which strategies to move forward in the State Climate Action Plan that will be delivered to the Governor and Legislature by December 1, 2020.

Detailed feedback from the public about the recommended strategies will be sought via survey beginning in early July. Please sign up for the Maine Climate Council newsletter on our homepage to learn about the launch of this survey.
