Troop E Weekly Report

On May 31, 2021, Cpl. Coover stopped Allen Henry, 46, of Lincoln, on I-95 Orono at 2245hrs.  Upon investigation Henry was arrested for OUI and OAR.  A Meth pipe was found on his person and Tr. Bragan also found Meth in Henry’s vehicle.  Henry was arrested and charged with OUI (.14) OAR & Unlawful Poss. of Sch. Drugs.

On June 3 2021, Trooper Yankowsky was patrolling on Rt. 9 in Eddington when he saw a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker.  He stopped the vehicle and the driver was identified as Karina Bradley, 38, of Clifton.  Her license came back as being suspended.  Bradley was then issued a summons for OAS.     

On June 5, 2021, Tr. Dube and K9 Odin assisted MCU with a suspicious death investigation in Old Town.

On June 4, 2021, Tr. Ramp stopped a vehicle for loud exhaust on I95 in Hampden. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Amy Bailey whose Maine driver’s license had a revoked HO status. Tr. Ramp charged Bailey for Operating after habitual offender revocation and had the vehicle towed. 

On June 4, 2021, Tr. Ramp was dispatched to a reported bail violation at 300 Stetson Rd. West. As a result of the investigation Mark Cross, 55 of Levant, was located on the property and charged with VCR and DV Assault. Cross was booked at the Penobscot County jail. 

On June 2, 2021, at approximately 2128 hours, Tr. Plaisted was advised of a car vs moose crash on I-95 at mile-marker 162 south-bound. After arriving on scene, Tr. Plaisted learned that the operator; Arthur Dickinson, 53, of Chelsea had struck a moose while traveling in the passing lane. After striking the moose, Arthur went off the right side of the roadway and entered the ditch before traveling approximately 50 feet into the tree line. Arthur’s suffered facial injuries due the crash and was transported to the hospital, while his vehicle is a total loss. His vehicle was towed by All Time Towing.

On May 3, 2021, at approximately 2250 hours, Tina-Marie Baginski, of Berwick, called 911 to report  she was lost. Baginski has three sets of bail which prohibited her from possessing or using alcohol was also prohibited from misusing 911. Baginski was located in a driveway in Winn on Route 168. After investigating the situation, Tina-Marie was arrested for OUI and bail violation. 

On June 1, 2021, Tr. Gould stopped a vehicle on I-95 southbound for operation after receiving a traffic complaint.  Kale Taylor, 42, of FL, showed suspended status for failing to maintain liability insurance.  He was summonsed for OAS.

On June 1, 2021,Tr. Creamer was on routine patrol in the Milford area.  Tr. Creamer stopped a car for several moving violations.  The operator was summonsed.  The passenger was identified in the stop as Milton Rennebu 40 y.o. of Milford who had an active warrant for his arrest and three sets of bail conditions.  Milton was arrested and taken to Penobscot County Jail.

On June 6, 2021, Sgt. Bustard summonsed Mitchell McNeill (27) of Parkman for Operating After Suspension as the result of a traffic stop on I-95 in Bangor.

On June 4, 2021, Tr. Foley stopped CAMERON MICHAUD (20) on I-95 north near mile marker 175. MICHAUD had been operating his vehicle at 100 miles per hour in a 70 miles per hour zone. MICHAUD was summonsed for criminal speed and released from the scene. 

On June 4, 2021, Tr. Foley responded to the area of mile marker 191 on I-95 southbound regarding a crash. A vehicle had been found on fire in the passing lane. The operator of the vehicle had been seen fleeing on foot on the Kelly Road off ramp. A K-9 track of the suspect suggested that he had been picked up on Kelly Road. The investigation is ongoing.

On June 6, Tr. Gould handled a report of unlawful sexual contact in Lee.  Raymond Davis (61) was summonsed for Unlawful Sexual Contact, class D.
 

Old Town man killed in crash on I-95 in Bangor

On June 11, 2021 at approximately 3:37am Maine State Police Troopers responded to a single vehicle crash on I-95 near Broadway Street in Bangor.  The investigation determined that the driver, 39 year old Anthony Monroe, Sr. of Old Town was traveling south when he struck a guardrail near the Exit 185 off ramp. The vehicle then traveled across the road and struck the concrete barrier in the median. Monroe, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The Maine State Police was assisted by the Bangor Police Department and the Bangor Fire Department.

Suspicious vehicle complaint in Levant unfounded

On Thursday, June 3, 2021, Maine State Police received a complaint about a suspicious vehicle that was parked on South Levant Rd. in Levant at around 4:30 pm.

The caller stated that a dark-colored SUV had stopped to speak with a juvenile. A white van was also reported to be at that location at the time.

Maine State Police identified and made contact with the individuals and after further investigation concluded the complaint was unfounded. There was no criminal conduct and there was never a threat to the public.
 

Troop E Weekly Report

On May 29, 2021, A report of an erratic vehicle was reported near the northbound 220-mile marker. East Millinocket Police Sgt. Patty McLaughlin located the suspect vehicle. Peter Harding of Medway was the operator. A DRE evaluation was conducted. Peter consented to a urine sample. Individually packaged heroin packs and crack cocaine fell from Peter’s pants. He was transported to PCJ and charged with Trafficking. The jail was requested to thoroughly search Peter. Xanax bars were located in Peter. Peter claimed none of the drugs were his because the car he was driving was not his.  

On May 29, 2021, Tr. Haverly-Johndro responded to Carmel for a reported car versus tree.  Upon arriving on scene, it was deemed the male subject, Ethan Lyons of Skowhegan had minor injuries.  Tr. Haverly-Johndro observed the male subject be exhibiting signs of intoxication.  Further investigation revealed the male subject was under the influence of alcohol and anti-depressant medications.  A Roadside blood draw was performed by EMS at the operator’s consent.  Tr. Haverly-Johndro summonsed Ethan for OUI and operating after suspension.  Ethan was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center for his injuries.  

May 28, 2021 - Tr. Bragan conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford Explorer on Route 15 in Corinth. Tr. Bragan identified the operator, based on prior contacts, as Kennith Greene. Tr. Bragan ran a driver’s license check on Kenneth to learn that he had two active arrest warrants for theft. Kennith was placed under arrest and transported to the Penobscot County Jail.

On May 28, 2021, Cpl. Coover stopped Chance Ball, 31, of New Mexico, for speeding 81/55 construction zone.  Chance vehicle was towed, and he was charged with speed and Operating after Revoked.

On May 28, 2021, Sgt. Turcotte charged Heidi Davis, 54, of Kenduskeag, with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, OAS, and Attaching False Plates after stopping her on Hogan Road in Bangor.  

On May 28, 2021, Sgt. Turcotte charged Kate Tripodi, 37, of Vermont, with Unlawful Possession of Heroin after stopping a vehicle she was a passenger in on I-95.  

On May 27, Tr. Yankowsky was dispatched to Lagrange concerning a theft of motor vehicle parts.  The complainant who stated that Arthur Lloyd, 34, had taken the catalytic converter off her pickup.  After the investigation, Lloyd was charged with Theft.

On May 27, 2021, Tr. Ramp was dispatched to a burglary on Main Rd.  Tr. Ramp responded to the residence and the owner had video footage of a male and female pulling into the driveway.  They proceeded to get out of the vehicle and the male is seen walking to the barn and coming out with a weed whacker.  They put the weed whacker in the car and leave.  Tr. Ramp located the vehicle a few miles down the road at a camper.  Tr. Ramp questioned Charles Michaud and Andrea Colbath about the theft.  As a result of the investigation Tr. Ramp charged Charles with burglary and theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.  

On May 27, 2021, Tr. Gould stopped a vehicle on I-95 NB for a seatbelt violation.  Numerous criminal indicators were observed.  Casey White, Jacob Whitcomb and Davine Buzzell were all determined to be on bail conditions.  A subsequent vehicle search revealed numerous items of paraphernalia. Keet was deployed on the interior of the vehicle and gave a positive alert.  Tr. Beaudoin conducted a search of both White and Buzzell and located a baggie of suspected Xanax pills.  White was summoned for a seatbelt violation and Buzzell was summonsed for violation of conditions of release.

On May 26, 2021, Sgt. Turcotte stopped three motorists for criminal speed in the construction zone on I-95 in the Hampden area.  All were cited.

On May 26, 2021, Tr. Foley stopped TRAVIS JANVRIN (31) for operating at excessive speed and making multiple unlawful passes on Route 2 in Carmel. JANVRIN was riding a motorcycle and did not have a motorcycle endorsement on his license. During the investigation, JANVRIN attempted to get back onto the motorcycle after learning that it was being towed. JANVRIN was arrested for resisting/delaying as well as driving to endanger charges and operating without a license.

On May 25, 2021, Tr. Gould stopped a vehicle on I-95 southbound for an inspection violation.  Aryn Osnoe was identified as a passenger.  Osnoe had a warrant for failing to appear.  She was arrested without incident.

On May 25, 2021, Cpl. Fiske responded to a camp on Cold Stream in Enfield, owned by Ashleigh McDonald.  McDonald reported that the former owner, David Pease (70), had returned to the camp and smashed all of the windows out of the boathouse. As a result of the investigation, Pease was located a short time later and summoned for criminal mischief.  

On May 24, 2021, Tr. Ramp was dispatched to a theft of 2 mailboxes.  Cynthia Jarvis called in reporting 2 mailboxes were stolen. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call 207-973-3700 x9.

On May 24, 2021, Cpl. Fiske and Tr. Gould responded to three separate moose crashes between miles 214 and 220 of I-95 all occurring within minutes of each other.  There were four different cars involved in the crashes with several people transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  

On May 24, 2021, Tr. Gould and K9 Keet were requested for a K9 sniff for Old Town PD.  Old Town PD had seized a safe and several plastic containers containing suspected cutting agents, along with almost $17,000 cash during a drug investigation.  A K9 was requested to further establish probable cause for further search warrants.  The safe and containers were setup in an open garage and Keet was deployed.  Keet gave a positive alert to both the containers and safe.

On May 21, 2021, Tr. Beaudoin received a call from Qualtek reporting a wire theft from their lot at 45 Mill St. in Corinna. After some investigation, the stolen wire was located at Newport Metals and was found to have been scraped by ADAM HAFFORD. HAFFORD committed a series of thefts at the Qualtek lot over the course of three days. HAFFORD was located on May 28 and was charged with theft (class C), theft (Class D for Tr. Foley’s case), two counts of VCR, criminal mischief (class D), and criminal trespass (class E).

On May 23, 2021, Ana Lopez and Natanael Tirado-Rodriguez of New Hampshire, stole a Duromax generator from a residence residence. The owners were home at the time of the theft. One of the owners confronted Ana and Natanael before the two sped off. Cpl. Chris Hashey located the pair Stillwater Ave. at the Orono/Bangor town line. Ana and Natanael claimed they gave $800 to Tammy Lee and Mike Handy to purchase the generator. The Fosters said Tammy and Mike did not have permission to sell the generator. Ana and Natanael were charged with Theft by Unauthorized Taking.
 

UPDATE: Located Safely SILVER ALERT: Mickey Moody

Mickey MoodyUPDATE: Mr. Moody was spotted in Bangor and was picked up safely by Bangor Police Department. Thank you for your assistance!

The Maine State Police have issued a Silver Alert for Mickey Moody Sr, 66, of Lagrange. He was last seen at approximately 1:15 p.m. on March 1, 2021. He was driving a blue Hyundai Santa Fe with license plate 141XL, and was hauling a utility trailer in the direction of Orneville/Bradford area. Mr. Moody is described as a white male, 5’4” 160 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes. He has a life-threatening medical condition. Anyone who sees Mr.  Moody should call 911 or 207-973-3700 x9.

Manslaughter Arrest for July OUI

An arrest has been made after an investigation into a crash that occurred in July of 2020.

The Maine State Police arrested Randall Hamm, 39, of Lagrange this afternoon and charged him with Manslaughter and Aggravated OUI.   State Police say Hamm was the driver in a fatal crash in Lagrange on July 7, 2020, which claimed the life of Desarae Bourgoine, 35, of Lagrange.  Troopers investigating the case say Hamm was operating at reckless speeds with a blood alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit when the crash occurred. 

Troopers from Troop E arrested Hamm at his residence in Lagrange and transported him to the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor.

Clifton Crash

Logging truck rollover on Route 9 in CliftonUPDATE: Route 9 has reopened.

The Maine State Police out of Troop E are investigating a serious injury crash that occurred at 1:10 a.m. on December 16, 2020, shutting down all travel on Route 9 in Clifton. 

State Police were dispatched to a roll-over crash involving several vehicles, and a log truck that rolled over blocking Route 9.  Troopers investigating the crash determined Jay Preston, 30, of Dennysville, Maine, and driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado on a suspended driver’s license, crossed the centerline, striking a 2000 Western Star tractor-trailer unit operated by Rodney Tolman, 56, of Amherst, Maine.  Preston was critically injured in the crash and needed to be extricated by Fire Personnel from Eddington and Holden before he was transported by Northern Light Ambulance to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.  

Troopers expect Route 9 to remain closed for several hours while crews clear the roadway, and for a team of state police reconstructionist to complete their scene investigation.   Troopers are urging motorists to seek alternative routes as this crash will impact morning commuter traffic.

Clifton Burglary

On Nov. 30, 2020,  at approximately 10:51 a.m., Troopers from Troop E responded to the Clifton Store in Clifton for a report of a suspicious vehicle. 

Upon arrival, troopers made contact with Jessica Sinclair, 34, of Franklin, and Neil Brown, 29, of Mount Vernon. During the course of the investigation, a K9 track was conducted, which led to a nearby residence that had been burglarized. 

Sinclair and Brown were both arrested and charged with Burglary, Class B, and Theft By Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, Class B. Sinclair and Brown were both transported to the Penobscot County Jail. 

The investigation is still ongoing.

Bangor Crash

Maine State Police responded to a crash on 1-95 in Bangor on Halloween morning.

On Oct. 31, 2020, at approximately 9:53 a.m., Maine State Troopers from Troop E responded to I-95 mile marker 187 southbound in Bangor for the report of a car that had crashed and rolled over into the median. Lexii Ash, 29, was operating a gray 2003 Honda Accord with New Hampshire registration. Ash had been traveling southbound on I-95 with her three children, all under the age of 4, when her vehicle left the roadway to the left for an unknown reason and rolled multiple times before coming to a stop in the median.

Ash and the children were transported to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center where Ash remains in serious condition. The children were transported as well with minor injuries. The interstate was restricted while rescue crews attended to the injured and the accident was reconstructed. Tr. David Olmstead is the primary investigating trooper.

Kenduskeag Industrial Accident

A Veazie man died in an industrial accident on a building on the Ames Road in Kenduskeag on the morning of Oct. 27.

At approximately 9:45 a.m., on Oct. 27, 2020, Maine State Police from Troop E responded to a rented building on the Ames Road in Kenduskeag, where they determined Gary Mullen, 59, of Veazie, had been involved in an accident involving a forklift. Co-workers had administered aid, but he was declared deceased. OSHA has responded to the scene and will be primary on the incident.
