09-07-20

Trooper Dana Austin stopped a motor vehicle for a traffic violation in Hancock, as a result of the inveatigation, Deborah Sinclair (51) of Sullivan was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Violation of Conditional Release and Operating after Suspension. Jennifer Cote (44) of Smyrna was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Methampetamine, and Heather Mullen (33) of Hancock was arrested for Violation of Conditional Release. Trooper Austin was assisted by Corporal Christopher Smith, Trooper Gavin Endre, the Maine Warden Service, and the Hancock County Sheriffs Office.

09-08-20

Trooper Gavin Endre conducted a traffic stop on Route 1A in Ellsworth. Throughout the investigation Jade Marsh (35) of the Bangor area was charged with possession of Schedule W Drugs, Dylan Belanger (27) of Corinth was arrested for Possession of Schedule W Drugs.

09-09-20

Trooper Dana Austin responded to Orland for a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrain. A vehicle had struck a pedestrian who was walking on the Front Ridge Road. Only minor injuries were observed on the pedestrian.

Trooper Andy Foss responded to a fatal crash on the Port Road in Machiasport involving a car and a motorized bicycle. The bicycle rider, Garrett Sprague (15) of Machiasport, died as a result of his injuries.  The vehicle involved was a 2011 Buick LaCrosse driven by Caleb Norton (20) of Machiasport.  Norton was driving east while the bicycle was traveling west, and the collision occurred in the eastbound lane. Troopers learned that the motorized bicycle was in the on-coming lane for unknown reasons.  Trooper Andy Foss responded as the primary investigator and was assisted at the scene by Sergeant Jeff Ingemi, Corporal Micah Perkins, Troop Investigator Josh Lander, and Washington County Sheriff’s Department.  A crash reconstruction and forensic mapping are being conducted along with a vehicle autopsy.  Poor visibility is a factor in this crash where there was thick fog at the time of the crash.  Machiasport Fire Department and Machias Ambulance also assisted.  Investigation continues.

Trooper Andy Foss responded to Hancock for a theft complaint where a lottery ticket was reported stolen.  Investigation continues.
