Troop G Weekly Report 06/21/2021 - 06/27/2021

On 06/22/2021, Tr. Darcy charged Robert Adams (46) of Westbrook with Operating after Revocation as the result of a traffic stop northbound on the turnpike in Wells.

On 06/23/2021, Tr. Loder arrested Brian W. Zeiner (49) of Rangeley for OUI-Liquor. Zeiner submitted to a breath test at Biddeford PD and the results show he was over the legal limit.

On 06/23/2021, Tr. Loder stopped a black Jeep with a Tennessee registration for speeding and cited the operator, Bruce Lee McKenzie (32) of Portland, for traveling 90 MPH in a 70 MPH zone.  McKenzie was also charged with Operating without a Valid License after BMV checks confirmed he has never had a driver’s license.

On 06/25/2021, Cpl. Cote stopped Christopher Seidel (35) of York on I-95 NB in Ogunquit.  His license was found to be suspended (5 active suspensions).  He was summonsed for Operating after Suspension and Possession of a Suspended License.  His vehicle was towed.

On 06/25/2021, at approximately 1730 hours, Sgt. Duda conducted a traffic stop northbound near mile marker 48. It was determined that the operator, Joshua Frey (46) of Gray, had been consuming alcoholic beverages. Frey was subsequently arrested for operating under the influence and transported to the Westbrook Police Department for a breath test. Frey blew over the legal limit. He was charged with operating under the influence.

On 06/27/2021, Tr. Darcy assisted Kennebunk PD and Wells PD in searching for a subject who fled from Wells PD and then fled on foot in Kennebunk after spikes were deployed. The subject was not located during the initial search but was later arrested at Cumberland Farms in Kennebunk.

On 06/27/2021, at approximately 0350 hours, Tr. LiBritz received a report of a wrong way driver in Cumberland. There were numerous calls of a vehicle operating southbound in the northbound lane from mile 58.  Tr. LiBritz was able to make contact with the vehicle at mile 45 southbound. With her lights activated and using her spotlight and horn she was able gain the driver’s attention, and the operator pulled over in the construction area in the center median at mile 45.  Tr. LiBritz scaled the two construction barriers and made contact with the female on the other side of the highway. Upon further investigation it was determined the female operator, Megan Buotte (35), was operating under the influence. Buotte was arrested and summonsed for operating under the influence and operating the wrong way on a divided highway. Sgt. Duda, Tr. Darcy, and Tr. Davis assisted, as well as Scarborough Police Department.

On 06/27/2021, Sgt. Porter stopped a pedestrian walking between the mainline and exit 44 SB on ramp. The male stated he was trying to get back to NC. There had been complaints earlier in the day about a pedestrian crossing the Pike at exit 48. The male was given a criminal trespass warning to the Turnpike. SPPD arrived to assist and offered to give him a ride off the Pike to exit 42.
