Troop F Weekly Report 10-26 to 11-01-20

Incident Type:         VIOLATION OF BAIL

Trooper:                   Cpl. Quint

Brief Synopsis:       Cpl. Quint issued a criminal summons to a woman in Littleton for violating her conditions of release.  The woman is on bail for criminal threatening and is prohibited from using the front door of her apartment.  The victim’s daughter shared video footage of the woman violating her conditions by using the front door several times.  The woman signed the summons without incident and has currently gone to stay elsewhere until the condition is lifted by the court.

Trooper:                   Tr. Castonguay

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Castonguay was conducting traffic enforcement on US Highway 2, Island Falls, and observed a vehicle with a defective headlight.  Tr. Castonguay stopped the vehicle and suspected the male driver was impaired.  After Field Sobriety Testing, the man was arrested for OUI and transported to the Aroostook County Jail where he submitted to a breath test.  The man was able to post bail and was released.

Trooper:                   Cpl. Quint

Brief Synopsis:       Cpl. Quint stopped a vehicle on US Highway 1, Blaine, for not having working taillights.  The driver stated he did not have his wallet or driver’s license and provided his name and date-of-birth.  Cpl. Quint determined the man was lying about his identity and questioned him further.  The man insisted he was providing an accurate name and just forgot his wallet at home.  An investigation showed the man lied about his name due to having an active warrant and suspended driver’s license.  Cpl. Quint arrested the man, had the vehicle towed from the roadway, and transported him to Presque Isle PD where he was able to post bail.

Town:                        Mapleton

Trooper:                   Tr. Levesque

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Levesque responded to an abandoned home in Mapleton when the owner reported a burglary of the property.  The owner had not been to the property for some time, and when he checked on it found that someone had broken in and caused some damage to property inside the building.  Evidence was collected at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Trooper:                   Tr. Rider

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Rider responded to Haynesville when the owner of a vacant home reported that people who take care of the property for him had discovered that it had been burglarized.  Several items had reportedly been taken from the home, including a shotgun.  The owner was creating a list of the stolen items for Tr. Rider.  The investigation is ongoing.

Trooper:                   Tr. Cotton

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Cotton and Cpl. Michaud responded to a Masardis residence when a homeowner reported that an intoxicated man had been on his property and fired a shotgun in his driveway.  The homeowner stated that the man showed up on his property and the two had words over recent thefts that had happened in the area.  At one point during the exchange, the homeowner stated that the man had fired a shotgun in his general direction.  The suspect was located the next day and arrested without incident.

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Curtin responded to a motor vehicle crash in New Sweden.  Investigation revealed the 18-year-old female operator was traveling too fast for the road conditions and went off the road.  The vehicle struck a tree causing damage.  Further investigation revealed the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle only had a learner’s permit.  Tr. Curtin charged the female with Operating without a License.

Trooper:                   Tr. mahon

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Mahon responded to the report of a burglary at a vacant home in Blaine.  The caretaker of the property checked on the property and learned someone had made entry into the residence.  Several items were rummaged through in the house.  At this time, it is unknown what was taken, and the investigation is ongoing.

Trooper:                   Tr. Saucier

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Saucier responded to a report of a burglary in Silver Ridge.  A caretaker discovered damage to the property as well as items missing from the camp.  The investigation is ongoing.

Trooper:                   Tr. Curtin

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Curtin responded to a motor vehicle crash on the West Road in New Sweden.  Witnesses observes the vehicle operating erratically prior to the crash and there have been other incidents involving the operator.  Tr. Curtin charged the 49- year old Caribou man with Driving to Endanger.

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Mahon charged a 23-year old male from Presque isle with Operating after Suspension after stopping his vehicle in Monticello.  Tr. Mahon had performed a registration check of the vehicle and learned the registered owner was under suspension.
