Troop F Weekly Report 02-22 to 02-28-21

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Desrosier was driving on State Route 161, Stockholm, and observed a vehicle travelling 91 in a posted 55 mph zone.  Tr. Desrosier stopped the driver and was told that he was just passing two vehicle’s hauling snowmobile trailers.  Tr. Desrosier issued the driver a criminal summons for exceeding the posted speed limit by 30 mph or more.

Trooper:                   Tr. Castonguay

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Castonguay was attempting to serve a cease harassment return form to a victim of harassment.  Tr. Castonguay observed a vehicle that was running in the driveway and ran the registration of the vehicle that was registered to a man who was on bail conditions not to have contact with the victim of the harassment.  Tr. Castonguay located the man inside the residence and charged him with violation of conditions of release and Pre-Trial was contacted.

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Martin was on Route 11 when he observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.  He was able to get the vehicle on radar at 70 MPH in a 40 MPH zone.  The local woman was cited for her speed.

Trooper:                   Cpl. Michaud

Brief Synopsis:       Cpl. Michaud arrested a local man for Operating after Habitual Offender Revocation and Violating Conditions of Release.  Cpl. Michaud was on Route 11 when a vehicle went past him at a high rate of speed.  The vehicle also had no exhaust and no registration plates.  Cpl. Michaud was able to pull the vehicle over and during his investigation learned that the man was out on 4 sets of bail and his license was revoked as a habitual offender.  He was arrested without incident and transported to the Aroostook County Jail.  Along with being charged with the 2 crimes, he was cited for his speed, not wearing a seat belt, not providing evidence of insurance, and not having an inspected vehicle.

Trooper:                   Cpl. Michaud

Brief Synopsis:       Cpl. Michaud warned an Easton woman for trespassing when a neighbor called and reported that she had been on the porch of his mobile home since early in the morning and would not leave.  Cpl. Michaud located the woman and issued her a trespass warning.  The issued stemmed from a neighborhood dispute that had been ongoing for several days.

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Cotton was on routine patrol when he observed a vehicle that was familiar to him.  He was aware that the owner of the vehicle had his license revoked some time ago.  After observing the vehicle commit several traffic infractions, Tr. Cotton stopped the vehicle and discovered that the owner of the vehicle was operating it.  He was charged with Operating after Revocation and Attaching False Plates.

Town:                        Mount Chase

Trooper:                   Tr. Barnard

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Barnard arrested a local woman when her vehicle was reported to be off the road in Mount Chase.  Tr. Barnard’s investigation revealed that the woman had a warrant for her arrest for D/V Stalking and D/V Terrorizing and the residence she had been off the road near was the victim of her criminal activity.  She was located a short time later after fleeing the scene and taken into custody without incident.

Trooper:                   tr. curtin

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Curtin responded to a motor vehicle crash in New Canada.  The female operator had struck a vehicle in Fort Kent and continued before crashing again in New Canada.  Tr. Curtin determined the female was not under the influence but did have a no bail warrant for a pre-trial violation.  Tr. Curtin arrested the 36-year old New Canada woman and she was transported to Aroostook County Jail without incident.

Town:                        perham

Trooper:                   cpl. casavant

Brief Synopsis:       Cpl. Casavant assisted Caribou PD with recovering a stolen vehicle from their town.  A 30-year old Caribou male had rented a vehicle and was due to be returned on 2-12-21 but he failed to return the vehicle.  The owner of the rental company believed he had located the vehicle at a residence in Perham.  Cpl. Casavant went to the residence and confirmed it was the vehicle.  The male suspect was in the driver’s seat when Cpl. Casavant arrived and admitted he knew he was supposed to have returned it.  He collected his belongings and the vehicle was towed from the scene.  Cpl. Casavant issued the suspect a summons for Theft as well as VCR on behalf of Caribou Police Department.  The subject is currently out on six sets of bail conditions.

Trooper:                   Tr. Saucier

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Saucier took a theft from report from a woman in T5R7 reference to a catalytic converter being stolen from a vehicle she had purchased.  When the woman went to get the vehicle, she caught a male cutting the catalytic converter off the vehicle.  The investigation is ongoing.

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Saucier took a theft report from a residence in Patten.  The victim reported he had package stolen.  The investigation is ongoing.
