Troop D Weekly Report

On 03/16/2020 Tr. Martin received a complaint regarding a male exposing himself to Dunkin Donut workers in Unity. As a result of the investigation, Justin Pomeroy (26) was summonsed for Indecent Conduct and trespassed from the Unity Dunkin Donuts. 

On 3/16/2020 Tr. Belanger and Trooper Webber stopped Gerald Burleigh (43) of Benton on East Benton Rd in Benton after receiving a motor vehicle complaint. Burleigh was ultimately arrested for OUI.  His passenger, Daniel Quimby (47) of Benton, was arrested on an FTA warrant. Both were transported to Kennebec County Jail.

On 3/16/2020 Tr. Dunn responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Windsor St. and Water St. in Randolph. Marcus Hemsley (34) of Farmingdale was charged with FT Register a MV >150 days and FT Provide Proof of Insurance.

On 3/21/2020 Troopers Dunn, Gleeson, and Lacoste responded to a crash at the entrance to the Caswell Rd. in Windsor where the driver was unresponsive. Jessie Hayes (47) of Windsor was transported to Maine General and will be charged with OUI, OAS and Unauthorized Use of Property.

On 3/21/2020 Tr. Belanger stopped Kaleb Smith (19) of Troy on Rt. 202 in Dixmont for speeding, 90 mph in a 55 mph zone. Smith did not have a medical marijuana card and contraband was located in the vehicle. Smith was charged with Criminal Speed and Possession of Marijuana by a Minor.

On 3/21/2020 Tr. Belanger stopped Jeff McLain (63) of Newburgh on Rt. 202 in Dixmont for speeding 86 mph in a 55 mph zone. McLain was charged with Criminal Speed. 

On 3/21/2020 Tr. Moore received a traffic complaint on 295, a citizen called in and alleged the operator of a vehicle could not maintain its lane and drove off interstate 295 onto the grass at one point. Tr. Peckham stopped the vehicle after he observed it swerving onto the shoulder while travelling on a straight stretch on 295.  Tr. Peckham  made contact with the operator, Steven Diana (31) of Gardiner.  Tr. Moore who also arrived performed SFST’s on Steven and determined he was under the influence of intoxicants.  He was taken to Gardiner PD for an intoxilyzer where it was confirmed he was above the legal limit of .08.  He was summonsed for the offense and released to a responsible party.
