Recently, Cpl. Adam Schmidt was promoted to Sergeant in Troop A at the City Hall in Alfred. Schmidt is a 9-year-veteran of the Maine State Police, who has spent his career in Troop A as a Trooper and was promoted to Corporal in 2019. He is a K9 handler with K9 Ibo and assistant K9 trainer, Field Training Officer, a member of the Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement Team, and most recently has served as acting capacity sergeant in Troop A.
Schmidt has received numerous awards including from the New England Narcotics Officers Association, and numerous State Police awards, including the K9 team of the year in 2016, multiple nominations for Trooper of the Year and was the Maine State Police Trooper of the Year in 2018.
