61st Maine State Police Training Troop

Of the fifteen recruits, eleven of them graduated from the 20th BLETP (Basic Law Enforcement Training Program) on May 20th, 2011. Two of the recruits graduated from the 18th BLETP, while another two recruits graduated from the 13th and 14th BLETP. Also, the 61st RTT has one recruit who went to through the Rhode Island police academy. These recruits have an extensive background of experiences including prior law enforcement experience, serving the military, education, and any other position that may require demonstration of leadership, teamwork, and plenty of motivation.

Despite the differences between these fifteen recruits, they will all begin this training with the same ultimate goal. To become a Maine State Trooper. Through the next nine weeks their commitment to public service and the Maine State Police will be tested as they will endure vigorous training that forces them to act under high stress. The training these recruits receive will stretch them physically, mentally, and emotionally so they may meet the expectations that this career demands. As a result, these fifteen recruits are attempting to prepare for the initiation of their training so in nine weeks they may rightfully earn the rank of State Trooper. Their training will commence on June 13th, 2011.
