Maine is one of the states that have anti-discrimination laws protecting gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning (GLBTQ) youth.

3. New Beginnings-serving runaway and homeless youth and their families- offer training opportunities including Creating Safety for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Youth

4. Report on health risks and disparities facing gender expansive students  Youth whose gender expression does not fit traditional roles based on their assigned sex at birth are often referred to with terms including “gender expansive,” “gender diverse,” “nonbinary,”“gender nonconforming,” or “gender expansive”.
