Maine Educator Talent Pool
The Maine Educator Talent Pool is a cadre of distinguished K-12 teachers, specialists and principals who may be considered for membership on local and state advisory boards and task forces, along with special recognition opportunities through the Maine Department of Education.
Talent Pool members are typically classroom teachers and are recognized by peers and supervisors as unique in their leadership and results with students. Occasionally a principal or specialist is considered. Of special interest are educators who are outstanding, and have not received previous recognition. Talent pool membership alternates each year between educators of grades K-5 and 6-12.
Do you know a relatively new educator (with five to 18 years of experience) that is illustrative not only of our state's, but also the nation's best? Recommend him or her for membership on the Maine Educator Talent Pool.
The 2016 recommendation period is now closed.
Please check back in January for information on the 2017 recommendation period. For next year, the Department will be seeking secondary level educators (grades 6-12) who demonstrate a one-of-a-kind instructional ability; inspire their students, colleagues and community members; and have strong long-range professional and/or policy leadership potential.
