Join 2020 Maine History Teacher of the Year and National Geographic Certified Educator Sarah Bailey (South Portland High School) on Thursday, April 1 at 3:00pm ET as she shares resources from National Geographic that you can use in your classroom! Summary of Performance Webinar: The Summary of Performance (SOP) is required under the reauthorization of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) 34 CFR 300.305(e)(3) and must be completed on required form.

The SOP is important to assist the children graduating from high school to higher education, training and/or employment.

Join us as we discuss Summary of Performance including Summary of Academic and Function Performance as well as recommendations to assist the child in meeting post-secondary goals.

Educators/schools/programs interested in utilizing Pre-K for ME in the coming year may want to take advantage of this 2-day initial training. The training will promote understanding of program design and will support successful program implementation.  School administrators are strongly encouraged to attend the trainings with their Pre-K teachers.  This year’s training opportunity will be held virtually from 8:30-3:30 on August 9 and 10.  Registration for the training should be completed at the school/program level.  Principals and educators should complete one registration on behalf of their school/program.  Details about how to prepare for the training and the materials needed to support the programs will be provided via email as registrations are received. Registrations for the 2-day training should be received by June 30, 2021.

MAP Growth Basics

This session will highlight the purpose and key metrics of essential MAP Growth classroom-level reports. The data in these reports will support teachers in identifying instructional areas of strength and focus and in engaging in conversations about student achievement and growth.

This is a scenario-based workshop where participants will work in teams to solve a tier 1 data analysis problem.  The first hour of the workshop is content-based (11:00-12:00), we will break for a 15 minute lunch, then 12:15-2:00 will be guided problem solving practicing new knowledge.

This is a part 1 of a virtual 2-part workshop that will meet via Zoom on Wednesday, September 22nd from 8:00am - 12:00pm. (Part 2 will be offered on Wednesday, September 29th from 12:00pm - 3:30pm. Attendance is required for both days.)

This training prepares school staff to implement suicide prevention lessons to their classrooms by offering foundational information and engagement in learning the content and strategies in the curriculum lessons. The programs are designed to target specific age/class levels. Materials are provided. 

Middle School Stress Management and Suicide Prevention Lessons: Developed for middle school health education classes, these lessons introduce mental health, stress, and coping strategies as well as suicide awareness.

Lifelines Lessons: Designed to be delivered in the standard high school health education class, these lessons offer basic suicide awareness and prevention and encourage accessing help through caring adults.
