Maine Educators Summit

Join us in person this summer for the 1st annual Educators Summit. The event explores a variety of topics aimed at enhancing and supporting educators and students. Engage in discussion with individuals from across the state and access diverse opportunities to learn with, and from, each other. Time is planned to network with other educational professionals between sessions, during breakfasts, lunch, and a networking hour on August 9th from 4:00 - 5:00 pm with complimentary hors d'oeuvres & non-alcoholic beverages is provided within the schedule. The menu for the Summit is provided for your convenience. 

The Department of Education will be reimbursing hotel accommodations for travelers with over 50 miles each way at a rate of no more than $179 per night. Participants are encouraged to use the SAU tax exempt status when reserving a room as tax will not be reimbursed. All reimbursements must be made through the submission of an SAU invoice. The deadline for submitting an invoice to the DOE is September 9, 2022. No exceptions.

The agenda is set up for 8 blocks of sessions over a day and a half, with fifteen sessions per time block.  Sessions will focus on on a number of topics including: MTSS, Strategic Planning, Data Analysis/Evidence Based Strategies, Leveraging Federal Funds, CNA, School Safety, Mental Health, SEL, ACES, Leadership Development, Interdisciplinary Instruction, DEI, Workforce Development, Pathways & Innovations, Outdoor & Nature Based Education, Family/Community Engagement, Tier III Coach/School Meet Up, Special Education, Digital Learning and many other topics. We are excited and pleased that all participants will have minimal challenges in attending. The Augusta Civic Center is equipped with an elevator and accessible restrooms. If you are in need of accommodations (physical or dietary) please contact Teri Peaslee. (teri.peaslee@maine.gov).
