Career and technical education (CTE) at the high school level is governed by Chapter 313 of Title 20-A of the Maine Revised Statutes. This Chapter provides the legal background for how Maine CTE centers and regions were formed, how centers and regions differ, and the powers and duties of the State Board of Education as it applies to CTE.
