The producers highlighted below have actively sold to schools through the state local foods fund. This is not an exhaustive list and
schools are encouraged to reach out to farmers and producers in their area that can sell to schools.
In order to purchase from a local meat processer, the slaughterhouse must either be state or USDA inspected. A list of state and USDA inspected slaughterhouses can be found here: https://www.maine.gov/dacf/qar/inspection_programs/red_meat_poultry_inspection.shtml.
