MEA English Language Proficiency and Alternate Assessment

MEA – English Language Proficiency

ACCESS for ELLs 2.0. Required for students in grades K-12 who are identified as English learners. Maine’s assessment of English language proficiency at grades K-12 will be the ACCESS for ELLs designed by WIDA. Administered between January 8, 2018 and March 2, 2018.

MEA (Alternate) – English Language Proficiency

Alternate ACCESS for ELLs. Required for students in grades K-12 who are identified with significant cognitive disabilities and limited English proficiency. Maine’s assessment of English language proficiency for students with significant cognitive disabilities and limited English proficiency will be the alternate version of ACCESS for ELLs provided by WIDA. Administered between January 8, 2018 and March 2, 2018.
