DOL to Host Unemployment Benefits Info Sessions
Here's a great chance to learn about the new unemployment benefits! The Maine Department of Labor (DOL) is hosting several ZOOM presentations, starting today, on the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program. PUA is a new federal program for workers not typically eligible for unemployment - including self employed individuals. DOL will start accepting applications for PUA this Friday, May 1, at 8am.
The ZOOM presentations will cover: Introduction to PUA Who is covered by PUA How is the Department reaching claimants The phases (1 and 2) of PUA implementation Questions & Answers
