Mandatory LPA training class for LPA license holders

Date: November 8, 2018

Time: 4pm-7pm

Location: Scarborough Town office, Chambers A

Town: Scarborough

Per changes to DMR Regulations Chapter 2.90 (2)(G)(1) to be eligible to renew an LPA License, in 2019 or in any subsequent year, the applicant must have completed any educational requirements established pursuant to 12 M.R.S.A 6072-C(3-A), enacted in 2017. The number of LPAs has expanded exponentially in recent years, and the intent of this law change, which was proposed and supported by the aquaculture industry, is to ensure that new entrants are informed about the biosecurity, animal health and public health risks associated with aquaculture activities.

(Please note that all LPA licenseholders are required to take this course by law, regardless of whether or not they also hold a lease.)

You MUST RSVP and attend one of these courses in order to be eligible to renew your LPA license for 2019.

The cost of the class is $25.00. Checks should be made out to ‚€œTreasurer, State of Maine‚€ and can be mailed to: Angel Wilson, Maine Department of Marine Resources, 32 Blossom Lane, Augusta, ME 04330.
Payment with cash is also available and can be paid at the class location. If payment is not made at the time of the class or before through mail by check, your attendance at the class will not be counted.
