Tightrope Seafarms, LLC -Notice of Remote Aquaculture Lease Hearing

On March 2, 2021, at 3:00 p.m., the Department of Marine Resources will hold a remote public hearing on the application of Tightrope Seafarms, LLC for a 7.25-acre, 20-year standard aquaculture lease on a site consisting of two tracts. Tract 1 is located south of Carlton Island, Salt Pond, Blue Hill, Maine. Tract 2 is located southeast of Carlton Island, Salt Pond, Blue Hill, Maine. The lease will be for bottom culture of American/Eastern oysters.

PARTICIPATING IN THE HEARING: Interested persons may participate in the remote hearing by computer or phone. To help manage the proceeding, interested persons need to complete an online registration form no later than 5:00 p.m. , February 15, 2021. After the registration deadline, DMR will contact interested persons with information about how to join the remote hearing. If you are unable to register online or need assistance with the form, please contact DMR.

INTERVENING: Applications to intervene need to be received by DMR no later than 5:00 p.m. on February 15, 2021. DMR will decide whether to grant intervenor applications five days before the hearing. If you are granted intervenor status, you become a legal party to the proceeding. See the contact information below to request an intervenor application from DMR. You do not need to be an intervenor to participate in the proceeding.

If the March 2, 2021 hearing is postponed or cannot be concluded by a reasonable hour, the hearing will be continued on March 4, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in the same remote format. Notice of a postponement or a continuance will be posted to DMR's website at https://www.maine.gov/dmr/index.html under "Meetings."
