Scoping Session (August 2, 2020) and Comment Period Deadline (August 16, 2020) - Maine Island Aquaculture, LLC

On August 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., a public scoping session will be conducted by Maine Island Aquaculture, LLC on its application for a 20-year standard aquaculture lease on an approximately 15.00-acre site located southwest of Hog Island, Marsh Cove, North Haven, Maine, for suspended culture of Atlantic sea scallops, sugar kelp, Dulse, Alaria, and skinny kelp. The session will take place at the North Haven YMCA, 12 Town Office Square, North Haven, Maine. If the August 2, 2020, session is cancelled, an alternate scoping session will be held on August 16, 2020, at the same location. Notice of a cancellation will be posted on the Department's website and a notice will be posted at https://www.maine.gov/dmr/index.html under "Meetings." A copy of the draft lease application is available on DMR's website at: https://www.maine.gov/dmr/aquaculture/leases/draftstandardapps.html. You can attend the meeting in-person, participate remotely, or submit written comments on the proposal. The deadline for submitting written comments is 5 p.m. on August 16, 2020. All written comments will be forwarded to the applicant for their consideration as they work on their final proposal.
