The Office of Aging and Disability services oversees several caregiver support programs: the National Family Caregiver Program (NFCP), the Savvy Caregiver program and the Caregiver Respite program for persons with Alzheimer’s or other dementia.
The NFCP is supported largely by the Administration of Community Living (ACL), and is targeted to families caring for older individuals and for grandparents caring for grandchildren.
The Caregiver Respite program is supported by state funding.
Each Aging and Disability Resource center (ADRC) has a coordinator who provides or arranges for:
- Information and Assistance
- Individual counseling
- Support groups
- Caregiver training
- Respite care
If you are interested in more information about the Family Caregiver Program, please contact your local Aging and Disability Resource Center.
