IV. NARRATIVE
On 5/28/02, 1621 hours Peter Goodwin of General Alum Corp reported a 25 gallon spill of 36 % alum solution. It came from a failed gasket. It formed a puddle, but the depth was not enough to use a pump so they absorbed the liquid with clay. They recovered the clay plus about three inches of soil. The total volume of the material was about one cubic yard. The spill covered an area that was ten feet long by four feet wide. The contaminated material will be sent to Pine Tree Land Fill.
