IV. NARRATIVE
While excavating for a leachate control trench Dragon contractors discovered heavy oil contamination below the ground surface. It appears that the area was designed to be a bermed containment area for the nearby 300,000 gallon heavy oil tank. The high water table made excavation difficult but through the use of dewatering pumps we were able to drop the water level enough to excavate the soil for treatment in the Dragon kiln. The oily water was also collected and processed through the Dragon kiln. See attached report. No further Response action is expected.
