Ross M. Wright, Sioux Falls, SD. I wish to express my support for non-renewal of the Shawmut Project Relicensing (FERC No. 2322) application as well as the 3 other Kennebec River dams currently owned and operated by Brookfield Renewable Partners. If Atlantic Salmon are to have any meaningful chance at recovery, these 4 dams must be removed from the Kennebec River. The cumulative impact of these 4 dams eliminate any reasonable likelihood that 500 Atlantic Salmon spawners could return to spawning grounds up-river each year to complete their life-cycle and actually spawn. This number is the minimum number considered essential in the Merrymeeting Bay Significant Habitat Recovery Unit to even consider down-listing salmon from endangered to threatened. Any loss in power generation would be negligible at best compared to allowing these fish to be extirpated from the Kennebec on your watch. Relicensing these dams will result in certain litigation due to ESA regulatory violations and would without question damage the credibility of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. This is a simple cost benefit analysis. Please do the right thing and deny this relicensing request. Sincerely, Ross M. Wright
