The Department of Environmental Protection (Department) and Land Use Planning Commission (Commission) published notice of a public hearing on the New England Clean Energy Connect (NECEC) project in accordance with applicable State laws and rules. The hearing was held April 1-5, 2019, in Farmington, Maine, as part of a joint hearing with the Commission (the Commission's portion took place April 2, 2019). The hearing was continued, jointly with the Commission, for an additional day on May 9, 2019. Pursuant to the 15th Procedural Order, the Presiding Officers have reopened the record to take evidence and testimony on the Applicants amendment to revise the projects location in the area near Beattie Pond in Franklin County. This reopening to gather additional evidence is needed to evaluate the proposed alternative route outside of the Recreation Protection (P-RR) subdistrict at Beattie Pond. The record will remain open for members of the public to submit evidence and written comments pertaining to the amendment of the proposed route until November 26, 2019.
