Maine election law provides that an absentee ballot application may not be made available more than 3 months before the election for which the application will be used. The next statewide election is a Referendum Election which will be held November 7, 2017. The 128th Legislature in the first regular session may approve one or more bond issues or other referenda to be ratified by the voters at this referendum election. There also are two citizen's initiatives certified by the Secretary of State that will go on the ballot unless the Legislature enacts them during this Legislative session. Please check back after August 7, 2017 to use the Absentee Ballot Request Service.
If you are a Uniformed Service or Overseas Voter (UOCAVA) and you want to request your ballot prior to August 7, 2017, you may use the online request option below, or you can fill out and submit this application to the Elections Division at UOCAVA.CEC@maine.gov or by mail to Elections Division, 101 State House Station, Augusta ME 04333-0101.
